I am seriously considering an 00-01 Discovery. But I am a little nervous being that I haven't seen any repair manuals from Haynes or Chiltons. If I have to go to the dealer for everything I probably won't get a Rover. Are there any sources for schematics and torque specs - what are most guys using?

Also I could use some pointers on what to look for in a high mileage Rover (what are the common failure modes).

What are you planning on doing with a Disco once you buy it?
As for manuals, go on e-bay under Land Rover and you will find many people selling copies of Rover shop manuals on CD that will be very useful for you.

If you're looking for a factory paperback manual go to amazon.com or british pacific. It's about an 1100 page workshop manual. For my Disco 1 manual it was $106.00 with shipping and worth every penny.
