Default Replace alternator or try to source voltage regulator?

Hi guys,

Well over the weekend I had a dead battery. Battery light came on and I'm putting out 12.6 volts. I have an alternator on order locally from Autozone, or I've been thinking about replacing the voltage regulator.

I'm torn, cause I really don't want to spent the extra money, but don't want to wait for the regulator if that's not the better option.

Thoughts?

I got a regulator on ebay but mine had no output. At 12 volt it maybe a diaode issue but im not sure.

Get a new Denso Alternator.
The bearings in your alternator could freeze and then rip the belt and over heat it.
not worth pinching pennies.
