Default Replace Lug Nuts Disco 2 with aftermarket

Sorry if this has been asked before - I searched several different terms and combinations of terms, and couldn't find a definitive answer...

Can I replace the lug nuts on an 03 Disco 2 with generic aftermarket M14 x 1.50 lugs that you can buy from a local chain auto parts store? Or do I have to get OEM lug nuts?

Mine are pretty beat up and it's getting harder to get them off and on each time. Would like to just go to a solid chrome lug nut if I can.

You'll need lug nuts designed for the wheels. There are aftermarket available, but not at the parts store.

You can get solid steel, not capped, lug nuts on eBay for about $40 a set.

Those look like LR3/LR4/RRS/RR lug nuts. D2/P38 RR are larger.

They say they have a 27mm head, which is the D2 size. The LR3 is 22 or 23 I think. The lug stud is the same size and pitch on them. M14x1.5 I think.

Yep I got home & looked at the link on my PC vs iPhone and yep those will work. Darn good deal IMHO. Just make sure you get all the washers. Last time I ordered a cheap set of LR3 lug nuts 2 of the lug nuts were missing the washers. I contacted the ebay seller and they sent me 2 replacement lug nuts, but if I had needed them ASAP I'd have been SOL lol.

That is a good deal, OEM for basically the same price as something that may or may not work from a local parts shop. I ordered them. Thanks for the tip about the washers, for the link, and the advice.

That's a hell of a deal compared to elsewhere. A lot cheaper than britpart for $85 and up

No more silly aluminum caps to swell up, crack, or fall off. I went ahead and ordered a set as well before the price magically goes up like most stuff on Ebay these days.

I'll run them and save my perfect OEM set and I won't have to worry about getting a tire fixed and not taking off the lug nuts myself without damaging them.

Let us know how they hold up and go on. I'm gonna order a set this weekend or early next week
