Default Replaced broken front driveshaft, now won't take gears

2002 Landrover Discovery2se. My front driveshaft fell out while driving home. We replaced it and it drove fine for a day. Now it will catch reverse once in a while, but no other gears, and yes it's full of fluid

Do the dash lights indicate the correct gear selection when you move the lever?

When it "fell out," did it cause any damage to anything else?
Is your transfer case in gear?

In and of itself, a front propshaft change should not give the effect you are describing. The previous question about whether your transfer case is properly engaged is a good one! The question about the dash indicator matching the gear selection you have made with the gear shift is critical. If you "cheat" and try to move the gear shift just out of position, do you get engagement?
