Default Driveshaft recall

Land Rover Recalls Some 1995-2004 Models Because Driveshaft May Detach

I'm guessing they waited until either (a) the driveshaft tore apart the transmission and the owners sold it, or (b) the owner rebuilt/replaced the driveshaft. By waiting so long, the pool of vehicles eligible for the recall is close to zero.

I'm tempted to throw on my old driveshaft and head down to the LR dealer. Hey - at least I'll get a free car wash out of it

Looks like this is talking about the rotoflex rear, not the double cardon front on the D2.

Recalls - Search Results | Safercar.gov | NHTSA

Looks like it only applies to vehicles that were serviced with these certain couplings, not all of them from the factory.

Default Only affects 180 vehicles...

You have better odds of winning the Powerball than having your truck in the Lucky 180...

How are they going to know who owns the truck now?

Looks like all of the bad couplings were installed in 2011.

There are only 180 trucks involved so don't go thinking you are going to win big.
All recalls are forwarded to current owners, with the help of local DMV's, so if your truck is one of the 180, you will get a notice directly from Rover.
