Replaced differential, now I have a vibration...

I have, and paid for a balancing and no change.
I'm super tempted to swap tires with the 2002 Disco, which are new, and see if the problem goes away, but what a project that would be. I'd almost rather just buy new tires lol.

Before throwing money at it, try to balance with the two screw hose clamp technique. Place and tighten a screw clamp on the drive shaft, place a second one beside and place the screw opposite side of the other so they cancel each other out. Then rotate one a small amount. It should decrease, or increase, the imbalance. If better, move a little more until balanced. If worse, go back to direct opposite and move in other direction until balanced. If for some reason you need more weight to balance add two more clamps and move as needed.
From what you have posted: Vibration exists with driveshaft and does not without it.
I would try the above and/or have the shaft balanced at a shop. That sounds cheap to me!

I haven’t yet but I’ll give it a shot. Any spot along it’s length I should place? Or does it matter...

I've got the same problem and have had it for years. Purchased several different driveshafts (never the TW tho), rebuilt the original driveshaft, and even replaced the front output bearing on the TC. It is smooth as glass when I drive with the front driveshaft out and the CDL locked, but when I put it back in, I get the same vibrations you do. Regarding 2002 vs 2004 driveshafts, I've never heard that they are different lengths, but I have a 2001, so I wouldn't have a reason to know.
Keep us posted!

Pre-2003s use the 4HP22 transmission. The 2003/2004 uses the 4HP24 transmission to accomodate the higher torque of the 4.6L engine. The 4HP24 is slighty longer which results in a relatively shorter driveline. However, you should be able to transplant the 2002 driveline to the 2004 as the splined shaft should be able to take up the difference in length.
