Default Replaced shuttle valves and performed ABS mod - 3 amigos still on

Sorry to start another three amigos thread, but I cannot find the answer to this anywhere.

2004 Discovery II SE. Three amigos were coming on intermittently and had the codes run. Shuttle valve failure came up. Had a qualified LR shop replace the shuttle valve component AND hard wire it for the ABS mod, but the lights are still on.

When i started the engine before, the lights would come on either within a minute or two or as much as 30 minutes later. Now, they come in immediately and stay on.

Does anyone have any idea what could cause that? Disco Mike?

I hired someone called Disco Mike for my wedding. My mother in law was distraught when an oily guy turned up carrying a torque wrench and some head gaskets.

Nice truck he came in though.

Anyway.

As Dusty says. Are you getting the same shuttle valve code?

I had the same situation and did the mod and have had no amigos. My guess is that one of the wires are not making a connection Either the ground or the wire going to the green/yellow wire. I am not sure why, the mod says to ground to frame somewhere, when there is a ground wire coming out of the abs(heavy gauge black wire that comes out below the larger connector). I used an expensive tap into the wires, both for ground and yellow/green wire. Mine also would normally come on within 30 minutes and shuttle code. Now no code and no lights. The other possibility, is they put on a defective shuttle valve, or did not solder the wires and pulled them apart when installing. Just a thought.

Diagnose, diagnose, diagnose.

This may help you ----> ABS Modulator - External Connector View Photo by Innernet | Photobucket
There is text below the picture.

After disconnecting the ABS module, get a piece of wire hooked to battery + and apply to valves terminals briefly.

You read the codes but did you re-read and CLEAR them after the mod? Also there is a lot more to shuttle valve failure than just the new valves and the electrical mod, there is of course the SV seals which are often overlooked.

I did re-read the codes after the ABS mod and it is still showing shuttle valve electrical failure. The ground is good and the other wire was soldered so I'm pretty sure the connections are good.

It just seems odd that the three amigos lights come on immediately now as they were not on when I started the truck prior

Were the codes ever cleared to begin with after the fix?

The scanner is not letting us clear them.

What codes are you getting now? What scanner are you using?
