Replaced Stock Subs in same housing? - make a diffrence
For anyone that replaced their stock subwoofers in the same housing with the rest of the system remaining stock, did it make a difference?
I know the only way to real subwoofer performance is to upgrade the system/amp, head unit, etc but I am looking for feedback from anyone that simply unscrewed their stock 6.5" subwoofers and replaced with aftermarkets retaining the rest of the stock system. I know others had to replace theirs due to age and wear so I hope I can get some feedback.

It doesn't need to be that difficult. New drivers will help, but not that much. Add an amp for the subwoofer only. Use high level inputs and drop the amp in the pocket next to the subs.
I use these drivers which sound really good in my D1...
and find a mid-power mono amp.....

I put some skar 6.5 woofers (not subs) in the back door. Had to cut some metal out to make them fit.
As for sound, they rattle everything if a song hits certain bass notes. You can hear it inside and outside
I put pyles in all the doors and still using factory tweeters.
Honestly, the back woofers need to go and some proper sized 10" subs installed in the the storage spots in the trunk aka where jump seats would go if you want great bass without losing trunk space.
For highs and mids the factory system is great for stock. Rivals my monsoon system in my VW.

The drivers drop right in. No mods needed.
The D1's have an small amp in the same box as the woofers, I used power from there. Is there a cigar plug/socket in the rear of the D2?
