Default Replacing steering wheel, how do I get the front cover/ airbag out?

Wheel is badly worn and picked one up today in much better condition. I have a wheel puller and the battery has been disconnected for 1 hour+. What is the best way to tackle the removal of the front cover/airbag so I can get to removing the steering wheel?

yeah I reinstalled everything and it only took about 30 min. from start to finish. I didn't even need the wheel puller! Very easy job once I located the screws on the back of the wheel.

I was going to say, put the battery back in and then t-bone a pryis doing 80. But your way works too.

Ha, yeah. I have actually t-boned a Toyota before although it wasn't a Pryis I think it was a Sienna Mini Van. Just about cut the Sienna in half and my bags STILL DIDN'T DEPLOY!! This guy turned in front of me and I smacked him pretty good, caught him right behind the drivers door. The brand new Sienna (2008) was T-Totaled, sadly my beloved E320 was beyond repair as well. I had owned Jaguars previously and had always wanted to make the leap to Land Rover. So far the Land Rover has not been near as much of a headache as my Jags. But, ha, I am looking for a 1975-77 Jaguar XJC for a new project!! I include a shot of one along with the E320 postmortem.
