Default repost with update cant start landrover

Hi everyone,

My husband has a 1998 discovery and I dont usually drive it. Its his pride and joy though. We have just moved from the warm coast to the cold mountains and this am it was in the 20's. I took the kids to school and drove the discovery. It started ok and when i returned home i turned it off and then realised that i need to adjust the seat for my husband and tried to restart it. Yes i did put my foot on the accelerator when i started it,but it started and then cut off almost immediately and wouldnt restart although it fired the next time.
My husband had to go to work so took my car and has left me with instructions to try and start the car later today and see what happens. any advice for what could be the problem and how it can be fixed? I would be really grateful

Thank you

I have been trying to start it all day with 1 hour or more inbetween each try. Car turns over fine but does not fire. My husband replaced the spark plugs two weeks ago and all the spark wires too.We have only had this car since January but have had so many problems with it. We are getting disheartened. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Also am interested in the fuel cutoff in the engine. what causes this to happen and could this be the problem

Quit trying to start it, you are just killing the battery, and at low voltage, the ECU won't let the truck start.

Either you are not getting spark or fuel.
The fuel cut off is on the firewall on the passenger side, it is a black rubber button.

Forgot to add, you dont need to start it to adjust the seat, just turn the key on, same with the windows.
And when you start it dont press the gas pedal.

Start here, spray some carb cleaner into the throttle body, will it run?
If yes then you either have a clogged fuel pump, bad fuel pump relay or a bad fuel pump.
It could be a bad cam sensor, but not very likely.
I would start with the fuel filter. It is behind the rear passenger wheel.

It's your crank sensor.
