Default Reset Engine Light Code QAS

I have a check engine light and my mechanic said the sensor 1 bank 1 needs to be replaced. Is this the mass air sensor, or oxgen sensor? He told me part is $250 and labor $35. Does this sound right?

1999 DII with 100k.

Thanks.

That is an 02 sensor and because of your mileage all 4 should be changed, which will improve your power and mileage. This has nothing to do with your MAF.
Shop around on the 02 sensors, should be able to buy them in the $65 a piece range.

I have seen several 02 sensors ht do not have the plugs on the ends which means splicing and shrink coating. Is there an advantage form one to the other? I know ones with plugs are easire but the ones without are less expensive. Is the only only other difference the price?

The one's you splice are not as good quality as the one's with the plugs on. Also, if you mess up the connection even slightly, you will get bad readings.

YOu get what you pay for.

Thanks. The two that I can see from the engine compartment look easy to remove and replace. Where are the other 2 sensors?Sorry to ask, but I am out of town on business and my DII is at home so I can't crawl under it to see check if they are visible from below.

Also, I am assuming that I need two of the front sensors (MHK100920)and two of the rear sensor (MHK100930)?

Once these are replaced do I need to have the errors reset, or will they go away with replacement of the sensors?

Is replacing these an easy process, or should I have my mechanic replace them?
