Right rear vent window
So I unfortunately had my 98 disco broken into via the right vent window. After getting a couple of quotes from local glass shops i decided i should save myself the money and do it myself. I Just got my replacement window from ups today and noticed the window sits in a metal bracket. Im not exactly the most car savy of people so i thought i would ask if anyone hear has ever replaced one before? From the looks of it I might need to take out the window regulator but i may be wrong....any input? thanks in advance
Which vent window, like the rear vent in the very back of the car, near the apex windows or the rear quarter glass. If this is what ur talking about there should be a rubber gasket with a removable inner piece then once u get it in u push the inner piece in very care fully with a small screw driver or something of that nature, all the way around. If it's a door window if u take ur door panels off, you will see the top track of the window unbolts from the door, u then slide the pieces out/in the track, etc and refasten the top bracket. If you get a manual or go online you can probably find a diagram of the individual pieces.
sorry i should of been a little more clear, its the small triangle window on the right rear passenger door. I kind of pictured it like you described, taking the panel off and sliding it in. I have the rave manual but didnt have much luck finding anything about that paticular window.....your advice helped though.! thanx
