Default right speakers wont play when using ipod but will with radio?

My right speakers won't play when I use my tape deck ipod adapter(this just started today) but when I turn the radio on they play fine. What's up? I've tried 2 different tape deck adapters n neither work

This happened to me too. Strange! I never figured it out. I ditched the factory radio this past Saturday and replaced it with a great JVC head unit with bluetooth and iPod/iPhone integration. Relatively simple install once I got the Pac-audio steering wheel adapter programmed and the ground loop problem resolved Now, better sound (with factory amp, might I add) and seamless digital integration. Next up...speakers.

Well I wish I could do that but that's not in the budget right now so I'm looking for a fix or at least a reason as to why this happened. Thank you though

You need to clean your tape deck.
If it worked before and not now thats why.

I used to be a HUGE audiophile and cleaning the tape heads was one of the things that needed to be done to keep the music clean and crisp.
This is especially true for car decks as there is a lot of dust that collects inside a car, even worse yet if you smoke.

Cig smoke will kill your CD player too.

Maybe start here: http://www.ehow.com/how_10507_mainta...ette-deck.html

I have never done it, but seems reasonable.

Yes that is the correct way to clean a home tape deck, kinda. You want to use a foam tipped swab not cotton tipped because the cotton will catch on the tape head and capstan and pinch roller and leave bits of cotton inside the deck.
Imagine running a cotton ball over your 5 o'clock shadow.

What he wants to use is one of these, a "wet" tape deck cleaner. It has a semi abrasive "tape" that you soak with a cleaner, run it through the tape deck, both directions and that will clean every thing.
There is no way you can use the foam tipped swab to clean a car deck, no room to work, you need to hold the door open and if you use to much cleaning solution it will pool on the bottom of the deck and cause problems.

Make sure you give it 15 min or so to dry before you use it after cleaning.

So I swab the inside with alcohol? I don't have a demagnatizer nor do I know where to find one.

If you look at the link you can buy a tape deck cleaner and that is what I recommend for a car deck.
Go to Radio Shack, Best Buy might carry them too.
Make sure you clean the adapter with alcohol too it is just as dirty as the tape deck.

But I must stress that you let it all dry before using it.

I know you wont be playing cassettes but I almost lost a import cassette because I did not let my deck dry long enough before playing it and it started to eat the tape.
