Looking for opinions!

I have herculiner which I like a lot. I have added it to my bumpers and sliders and will probably do my roof as well. I was thinking of doing my rims in herculiner as it would be durable and easy.

I also have the duplicolor rim paint with clear coat. This would probably look better and not hold dirt as much, but the application is much more finicky and more likely to chip.

Which would you do and why?

 

The Herculiner will weigh more(probably not a significant amount), but it will make stick-on wheel weights not stick, and the weights that clamp to the wheel lip will chip it off.

I would be curious if there is an interior temperature difference with the black roof vs the silver too, even with the radiant barrier.
I would think it would be a few degrees warmer inside still with the black vs silver.
I'de temp gun inside and out with the black roof, and again after you peel it off and see.
But, probably not enough difrerence to keep you from changing colors.

 

I'll check the temps when the sun comes back out. Right now it's raining buckets.

 

Did a test rim yesterday. It turned out all right. Used a lot more paint than I expected. Went with duplicolor so now I am committed. On to the next four!

I typically do Plasti-dip or Rust-Oleum hard hat black. Both have held up very well but the paint is easier to clean
