Default Roof rack

Just picked up a roof rack for $150 bucks! Found it on cl the guy wanted 200 for it but since it was on a D1 I told him Id give him 150 and he took it.Its alittle short but im ok with that.(pics coming soon)Then on my way home I stopped by my buddys junk yard and found a set of Hella 1000"s on a ford pushbar and offered him 40 bucks and he said sure! Now Im going to play the lottery cuz Im thinkin its my lucky day!

a D1 rack fits on a DII? I thought they were too narrow.

yeah, post some pics when you get a chance. If it looks good I'll go that route, you can find them a lot cheaper than DII racks. I thought I read somewhere they didn't fit but I guess they were wrong.

width is the same, its the length that is the problem. about a foot short. even an SD D1 rack will fit a D2 just a bit short in the back.

i don't think it looks that bad, it kind of lines up with the back of the rear skylight window.

I'd be ok with the looks if I could pick up one in the $150-250 range. My only concern would be load/unloading heavy gear from the back and scratching or denting the unprotected roof part. Gear like large storage boxes, tables, etc..if you only camp with light weight gear it would be fine.

that looks great. and besides, if you've got antennas you want to mount (like the three I have to mount on my D2) it can be installed towards the back of the rack, easily clearing it. thanks for the info.
