Default Roof Rack Light install

Anyone have a DIY install for lights on a roof rack. Someone on craigslist has a rack for 250 painted and mounted that they fabbed up. offroad roof/cargo rack
I asked him to add light brackets but I have no idea how to route the wiring and supply power and add a switch in the cab. Some people in the past had picture tutorials for this but since have been removed. I know this is a simple answer for most of you. Its a great deal on a rack though.

Buy replacement cruise control switches. They are latch on, latch off. Otherwise use the wiring harness available with your lights. Run the wiring down the inside of the plastic cover on the driver's side A pillar, but be very careful with the plastic. It has a tendency to break.

Default roof rack lights

what i did was too run the wiring along the inside door sill to the top of the door. drilled a hole in the rain gutter and ran the wires to the rack.

from the door were the quarter panel gap is, run the wiring to and under the hood and along the wash lines to the battery. run the swich wires through a rubber gusset in the fire wall.

by doing this there are not holes in roof for water to leak form.

hope this helps

THanks for the help. Just trying to figure out total cost of the project before asking the better half. If I use a cruise control switch so I can have the switch on the dash...Is it just out in series with the wiring harness? Just allowing power to go from the battery past the switch? I dont have much experience with wiring or electrical components. Oh and suggestions on what kind of lights. Thanks

How much do you think that weighs? It looks STOUT. What's the typical weight of the SD racks?

Not sure. We drive tanks and get terrible mileage so I don't think it will make a difference. Lol

Default roof lights

i personal like ipf they can be pricey. but they have mouse type led switch and can be wired with the high beam, and go off and on with the high beam. makes it nice. i do not know modle number off hand. but they are modified driving light that comes with 50 w bulb and a 100 w you put in place of the 50. the lights on the rack are super rally 930 with 100w low and 170w high. throws a lot of all over not just a beam. they also come with a mouse led switch and can be linked to the high beam and they all go off and on with the high beams.
