Default Which Rotella oil to use.

I have read on this forum about how good Rotella oil is and was planning on using it from now on but I am not sure which type and weight to use. I am located in South Florida where it is hot most of the year and winters are short and mild. I would also like suggestions on which oil filter to use, I have read that K&N oil filters are not as good as most people think.

Rotella 15w-40. I use a Donaldson oil filter. Wix is also a good filter.

Consider using the Rotella 15W/40 synthetic. As for the filter, ify ou read the oil filter comparison tests you will find both the K&N 3001 and Mobil 1-301, both made by the same company, are a couple of the top 4 or 5 on the market. K&N is getting a little pricy, thats why I use the Mobil 1-301 for a couple dollars less.

I've used the 5W-40 T5 full-syn as that was the only Rotella I could find at the auto parts stores close to me. I found 10W-30 T6 Rotella at Wal-Mart for $11/gal, so that's what I'll run next change. I am running 10W-30 Mobil 1 full-syn right now and have more engine noise than I do with the Rotella.

I've used the big K&N filter since I joined this forum, because they say bigger is better

Rotella conventional 15-40, Mobile 1 301 filter. Going to make the switch to Rotella 5w40 synthetic next oil change for winter and I'll probably just go synthetic from there on out. Trying to clean up my engine before I have to do the inevitable head gaskets.

I use the 5W40 full syn, both summer and winter. I can pick it up from Walmart for $20/gal. Typically, I only use either a K&N or a Mobil 1 filter.

Any Rotella that has an SM rating can be used in your truck. If you can find a donaldson P169071 filter that is the best filter hands down you can buy, it has a glass synthetic media and is made for long drain diesel applications.

Thanks Google.

Might try these out, though $23 shipped for a filter is a bit hard to swallow.
