Default Rough idle misfire codes P0300 and P0305

Well, out of the blue yesterday the CEL came on (blinking then solid) and pulled codes P0300 and a couple P0305. I can feel the misfire right at startup and until about 1500-2000 rpm. New plugs and wires about 12k miles ago. No loss of coolant or anything in the oil or any white smoke from the tailpipe. With my hand over the tailpipe I can feel a gap in the exhaust stream, not a smooth stream as before. Has not been overheated (at least while I owned it) and has been running 188 on the highway and 197 at a stop light. 77k on the odo.

Its at the indy shop down the street now.

Praying its not head gaskets...

Well then, cylinder #5 has a wet plug, coolant leak only 40lbs pressure...this really sucks.

Looks like this is the end for our Disco. Thanks to everyone here for your helpful comments, it was a pleasure while it lasted. Will probably be back here if we end up with an LR3.

What are you doing with your truck? I noticed you have a 2004 with only 64k miles, are you sure it's not worth fixing?

I would love to buy your 2 center console cup holders if you'd be willing to part with them for a decent price. And if you make me a good deal I might want your front bumper, roof rails, and head lights also. Let me know

Yeah, I did a lot of work to it but $8k plus for a new engine is hard to swallow (its at 77k now). If I did that I would only do a top hat long block to be sure. It really sucks, its in perfect shape besides the engine, replaced driveshafts, rebuilt ABS mod, new tirers, breaks, rotors, coolant system rebuild... Interior is immaculate. If I do end up parting it out I'll definitely post here, unless someone locally wants to come take the whole truck.

Problem has to be diagnosed, then you can decide to install used or to rebuild. If it just needs head gasket, not a big deal.
Does it have old Buick pushrod engine or like Jaguar DOHC engine? Buick engines are very easy to repair.
$80 head gasket set:

Its the Buick, all Discos before the LR3 had the RoverV8. Had compression test done on cylinder #5, only 40 lbs. Plug was wet with coolant. Thats usually not a good sign...

Gonna pull all the plugs and take a look at the inside of the cylinders with my borescope. I'll post pics and an update. I don't seem to be loosing coolant, then again I have not run the truck a lot since the check engine popped up. Fingers crossed I dont find anything steam cleaned or water in the bore.
