Default Rough start in cold weather...

The temperature has been somewhat cold recently and my Disco doesn't always start on the first try. It always works on the second try, but I'm wondering if it is just the cold weather or do I have yet another piece of my truck about to die? No check engine light or anything.

Thoughts?

Oh on a side note...I ran two trails in Sedona on Tuesday. My first off-road experience. Nothing too intense as I do have 18s on and no lift, but it was fun. I ran Soldiers Pass and Broken Arrow. If any of you know the area...I ran where the Pink Jeeps and Red Rock Jeep Tours go.
Nothing big to experienced off-roaders...but I big deal to this trail virgin

I saw this program on Planet Green channel (discovery?). The guy who owns the electric Rover was from Jerome.
The awesome white Range Rover is from Phoenix area. Where these guys did their trials and competition...that's where I went (grin).
Okay...newbie moment over...

Are you running high test gas?
It is unusual for a D2 to not start on the first bump, I bet you are ready for at least some plugs and fuel additive.

Planet green "pukes". ofcrouse the'll make the "electric green defender" win. how gay, nbc needs to get a life and stop just making a big global warming advertisment for G.E. (there parent company, ever wonder why there so "green"), oh and why did they have to ruin the weather channel to??!?!

edit: rant aside: that definantly quailifies as off-road. mabey change where your getting gas, or add a fuel additive?

I have been using premium like a good girl...but I HAVE changed where I got my gas.

And i haven't thrown in any Lucas in several tanks.

I DID just change my wires and plugs though...maybe something is loose?

snowdude-although electric cars are not he answer they are a start. I realize that you are young but global warming is not a myth, it is real and we need to conserve the few resources that we have.

Annie-with the new plugs and wires that you just installed it is very strange for your truck not to start on the first try. I am assuming that it is turning over like normal just not starting, try a different brand of gas. I dont know how cold it gets there, cant compare to T.C. I'm sure.

I'm going to head to Shell today and fill up. I've been going to another gas station, Maverik, because premium is a lot cheaper there.
Sounds like Irma isn't happy with discounted fuel.

I'll also throw some Lucas in there...hopefully that will clear up.

It only does it in the morning when I first start it up to go to work.

Never heard of it. Does it have an octane rating?

The guy who had the green defender used to live here in Jerome, or so I was told. All of his cars were electric. He moved a few years ago so I'm assuming that episode is older...probably used for a different discovery channel show and reused.

The white Range Rover owner is on my AZLandRoverOwners email group...he rolled it the last week of October so it is no more [] Side note...he's okay though!

"High Test" is what us old guys call premium, thats what they called it when we were young.
Discount gas is discounted for a reason.
Stick with Shell, BP, Chevron or Mobil.
