Question Rover Diesel options?

This is more for a future project but are there any Rover Diesel options for DII's? I would love to throw a 300Tdi into my DII however I know that PA DOT requires that you have an engine the same model year or newer in your Vehicle. Does anyone know if the TD6 is US DOT compliant?

I always wonder how hard of a conversion it would be? and if model years would just about match up...And also why you never see it done?...Especially when just about everyone has problems with these gas motors.

its not cost-worthy to import an engine. you're better off just importing an entire vehicle with a diesel in it and selling whatever you own to finance the purchase.

If you think these cars are slow now, wait till you toss one of those engines in there.

That is a good option, but I have family over in England (and Europe) so they would be able to go to a wreckers yard and pull a engine for cheep.

Land Rovers have the aerodynamics of a brick, speed wasn't a deciding factor when I bought it

Besides a cost of $10,000 and more, a lack of power, higher fuel cost, why would you want to try a diesel?

from everything I gather at the end of the day to do a complete engine job new with warranty (gas) is real close to 10k. As far as diesel less maintance,longevity,torx...Im sure a lot less leaks...But then again,everything/anything leaks less then a gas rover motor.

warranty? 10 grand? you're being lied 2.

even if you went to a dealer you could get everything done for $4k.

indie shop more like $1500-$2000.

do it yourself for $500.
