Default rtv gasket maker dry time transfer case plate

I just finished tightening down the 10 bolts to the transfer case plate. I used RTV gasket maker on the plate but the tube is completely black now and I cant read the dry time. I heard some people say 24 hrs before some said a few hours. How long should I wait before adding the gear oil and driving?

At least 12 hours. In my experience it's better safe than sorry and having to do it again
