Default running with front driveshaft (ABS question)

I'm getting about 2 more MPG with my front shaft out so i'm considering leaving it out. Ofcourse I had to lock my CDL and that made my ABS light come on. I've read on here that locking the CDL does not disable the ABS, but why is my ABS light on? 99' DII.

Your ABS light coming on is a seperate issue. If you continue to run with the front DS removed the 2mpg that you save now will cost you $2,000 in six months.

Don't do it for long, you will damage the rotoflex, plus I doubt you are saving 2 MPG.
What sort of mileage are you getting?

The ABS light came on immediately after I engaged the CDL. That seems like odd timing to be coincidence.

I was getting about 12.5MPG and now I'm getting 14..and that 14 includes some miles pulling a jetski.

How does it damage the rotoflex? I'm not questioning your advice, I'm just curious what it does exactly. Thanks for the info guys.

You're relying on just the rotoflex to move the weight of the vehicle instead of distributing those forces to the front as well, that's my guess.

The rotoflex is a chunk of rubber that attaches your driveline to the diff.
