Default Running on the hot side

I just replaced the head gasket on my discovery 2 and I have a scan tool hooked up to it. The coolant temp has been leveling off around 217 some times 220’s when driving around town and 212 when idling. I have replaced the radiator, 180 thermostat twice, water pump, clutch fan, and temp sensor. The belt is routed correctly and the thermostat is connected right. The fans are both pulling air through the radiators. Does anyone have a guess on what else could be cause the rover to run warm? I order another temp sensor the I’m going to try Sunday cause I’m out of guesses.

You still running the factory cooling system? Almost definitely a bleeding issue. Swap it over to inline and your problem will likely go away.

Some 180 thermostats are actually 190 oem. Had this happen to me twice from lucky 8

sounds like you have the oem temperature ranges
go with the inline thermostat from our member here. You will never look back. Easy install

I made 2 videos about this. You might want to check them out. You can find them here:

Agree with inline thermostat mod. First thing I would update on any Disco. To bring temps in the 190 degree area here in the Florida summer, I had to also go with a heavy duty clutch fan and Flowkooler water pump.
