Default Running on lucky 7

After a 200 mile round trip our 2000 D II Decided it was 7 cylinders. My F-150 would always foul out the rear plugs because water-road grime would get in there from a faulty rear hood seal from the factory. Does the DISCO have any usual suspects as far as cylinders that love to foul?
My British Rover Mechanic told me a horror story about were all those plug wires were going.AKA to individual coil packs mounted to the fire wall jammed behind the engine.
Anyhow any input on which cylinder isn't putting any input into our drive over the 10,000' summit would be much appreciated from the fellow Rover Brain Trust!
Thanks for any input. Jeremy

did your check engine light come one? what was the code on the computer? have you replace the plugs since you owned the truck. most people here will reccomend the 8mm magnecors.

yeah the engine code should tell you which cylinder isn't firing. IIRC it's two coil packs not one per cylinder..but I'm not certain. when I changed my wires I never saw the coil packs just had to feel back there..yeah they're in a tight spot.

Default The Plug wires are new 8mm

There are new wires on the truck. I haven't brought it over to my buddies shop to code it. The shop is one town over and with the help of you folks I was trying to avoid driving the truck and washing the cylinder.
I'll just go out and start pulling the wires one by one with the truck running and klien gloves on to see were the issue is.(electricians gloves)
I was wondering if there was a usual suspect cylinder like some vehicles that foul out.
And yes I have the service engine soon bs flashing in my face.
Also in another post if you know your radio code pull the negative off your battery for a few min if you're sick of the codes flashing in your face that's the ghetto code reset.
Can someone tell me the worst cylinder to replace as far as hooking the coil pack back up correctly so I can start there. Thanks Jeremy

if the service light is flashing then you are in a bad bad state. there are no suspect cylinders that fail on these engines. is there an auto zone closer than your friends shop, they will read the codes for free. are the wires atached to the coil pack correctly? i think either the wires are not correct on the coil pack and its causing a misfire or the wires are not the correct wires and its causing problems. get the codes and come back to us so we can help you properly instead of guessing.

if you're going to pull wires to find out which one isn't firing don't pull the wire off the coil side pull it off the spark plug side..that will be MUCH easier

Thanks for adding a little humor into the thread.(the information is very helpful as well as quite funny) My wife is in the Hospital and My Grandfather suddenly passed away this week so I can use a little humor.
Anyone who has stood outside working on a running engine with a HEI ignition in the damp will know "This can be a real Eye opener!!.
