So... finally got the time to get some video of the rust. I think the rear section from Rovers North might work. But thoughts??

An air needle scaler will make quick work of the flaking rust and let you know how bad the rust has spread. Your right side looks like it goes under the tow attach bracket. Left side does not look too bad.

You don't need that expensive rear frame section your rust is contained to the bottom of the frame mine was worse than that I dropped the tank cut off the exhaust, fuel tank and tow brackets made two u shaped repair sections cut out the rust then slipped the repair sections over the frame rails and welded them in then welded the brackets back on, cost me the steel and the materials. A metal band saw was key to making the repair pieces.

I have found a lot of cool repair kits on eBay UK. I think these Rovers are more common like Fords and Chevy's over there. Check these out, weld on pre-cut. Get a nice welder or have a repair shop do it for a deal. It could easily be done on a Saturday with a grinder and wire wheel. The Disco shown in the video is pretty well eaten alive. Glad they use sand and Chloride here in Colorado. Yikes

Can you post pics of your U-shaped pieces and where it was welded to the old frame? Was your U-shaped one piece with vertical cuts to allow the bottom to bend along the frame?

I don't have any pics as they were lost when my phone was lost but each repair section was made from three pieces of steel welded together and matched the rear frame and was made just a bit wider so it could slide over the damaged section, it was made wider and higher than the rusted section so it could be welded to good steel, I'll take a pic of it installed.

Found some pics of the job after all, the rust was extensive because the PO used the truck to launch his boat in saltwater. Most of the welding was done with a 120v lincoln flux core wire fed welder. The weld joints on the repair section were sealed with seam sealer and painted from the inside before I welded it on to prevent it from happening again.
