Can anyone direct me to the best place to buy a Safari rack?

I have seen them on Ebay, look at car parts, land rover, discovery.

there were like 3 on there this week.

i don't know what year you have.
the D1 racks are shorter than the D2 SD rack.

New ones are no longer available, old ones need to be looked at carefully for rust and other damage, and will be expensive.

I would contact Charles at Rover Accessories, great guy and his products are designed from the ground up in house. Tell him Chris sent you...he'll be like "who?"
