Nice job CaptnJack, it looks 'the dogs doo dahs'. The finish effect looks very professional and at least you'll never need to do it again

PS like the avatar

As Dusty says, it's near impossible to inject glue behind the cloth and causes lumps and bumps, also crunchy bits and often stains the headliner fabric. Many have tried this unsuccessfully

Yes, Autozone has the Headliner Repair Kit I used. Amazon has some very similar pins if you enter 'upholstery pins' in the search field. Autozone also had a glue injection system which I thought would be messier than the pins.

CaptnJack,

Now that is what I'm talkin about! That is SWEEEEEEET!

What do you guys think of striping the fiber card down and then adding a layer of epoxy/fibercloth over top. Prime the hell of of it with sandable primer. Sand then paint! I don't think it would add too much weight, not much thickness, and make it that much more durable. Or would it even need it?

I like the idea of rubberized or textured feel and look!

hmmm....

You can also get a flock sprayed onto the grp backing board which simulates the original baize fabric headliner.

Default Want!

Where do I get me some of those? In Canada (auto zone doesn't ship here).
That looks like an excellent interim solution. Too many things to do to start taking out my roof at the moment.
