Default SAI Delete Bolts For Heads

Hello all! New to the boards kind of - I’ve used this place multiple times to find answers, but just now signing up. I am planning to delete my SAI system. I saw a video on YouTube that showed bolts used to block the holes on the heads. In the comments they mentioned purchasing them from someone on here and were custom made. I’ve done quite a few searches on here and can’t seem to locate that person or thread. I don’t know their name. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This SAI stuff is a pain and I just want it out of the way. As of right now we don’t have emissions in my state and CEL has been on since I bought it. Truck runs fine, but the metal tubes were not put back correctly by mechanic from rear main seal fix and it is melting the plastic fuel line connector slowly. I have a new one ready to put on once I delete SAI.

Not sure who was making these bolts but you can also modify the SAI to flexible tubing: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...ve-mod-101815/

Easiest would be removing the nuts from the SAI pipes and placing a disk inside to cover the hole. Or try to find a cap nut that fits on the adapters.

I'm the guy who made the SAI delete plugs! If you need a set DM me and we can set something up, my shop is a bit of a mess at the moment so it might be just a little bit before I can fab some up but it shouldn't be too long. I can do it for $30 a set, shipped. It's also my understanding that you might have to swtich the ECU to a non-SAI model or you will continue to get the codes, but confirm that first. My truck was already a non-SAI model and my rebuilt motor (still on the stand) was from an SAI model so I just had to plug the holes.

5/8-20, you won’t find it anywhere, not online, not at Fastenal and not on McMaster-Carr. When I was doing my initial search the closest I found was a 5/8-20 nut (at $13 each) and I think I found a 5/8-20 tap or die for some outrageous price.

Comparing the 5/8-20 and M16x1.25 measurements..

5/8-20 has 15.639 - 15.845mm diameter
M16 has 15.76 - 15.972mm.

Pitch on the 20 is 1.270mm and the 1.25 for M16 is, well, 1.25.

I have a the SAI plug here and it's 15,76 mm diameter and I checked the pitch with a gauge and the 1.25 seem a good fit. As the threading is not that long, it shouldn't do much damage on the head.

I'll go and see my local dealer see what they have (I'm not in US) and test the M16..

My sai plugs are welded shut so I'm good anyways, but putting in normal bolts to plug would make it look cleaner.
