Default SAI/non SAI ECM SWAP

Hello everyone.
Thank you for all of you knowledge. There is about 120 years worth of experience here on the Disco, and I am capitalizing on all of it!
I am not concerned with any legal ramifications. My 2004 Disco2 is titled in Alaska and I am stationed in Alabama. I will never be required to do any kind of smog test.
I would like to rip out (tactfully) the Secondary Air Induction (SAI) Electronic Control Module (ECM) and replace it with a non-SAI-ECM. This will be an off road “SHTF”, hunting, “bug-out”, and family fun vehicle.
What could possibly go wrong with my idea? (a.k.a. break my toy.)
I blame all bad grammar and punctuation on the wild turkey…
Respectfully,
Kendal
Have a Great Army Day!

Besides a permanent check engine light due to the ECM constantly looking the SAI....and you'll need yo removed/block off a few areas.

The plan is:
Remove SAI ECM
Replace with Non-SAI ECM
Cap off all stupid vacuum equipment.
Remove Catalytic convertors –Weld in off road pipes.
Replace O2 sensors to fix check engine light.
Enjoy America like it was 1984 when we were worried about the next ice-age.

You are aware removal or modification of a catalytic converter is illegal on a Federal level?
That being said due to my legal obligations as a automotive tech, removing the cats and installing o2 sensor is gonna be working backwards. What you need to do is wire in a resistor in line with the rear O2 sensor in order to trick the system into believing that a cat is there, or run O2 sensor simulators. You can find more information on google. The only downfall is that your truck will take forever to warm up and will run like **** on initial startup.

Why? Leave it alone. Leaving it alone costs you $0 and is better for the planet.

But if you really really want to hack up your truck you can just take all the stuff off and ignore the check engine light.

It will run exactly the same.
