Just discovered my SAI motor has a filter. Ok, I see the top tab but that was not enough to remove it. How's it usually replaced? Unbolt the two bolts and remove the pump to access? Thanks.

 

Yeah. It's fairly straight forward. 3x10 head bolts as I remember. Might be wrong.

Mine was on and off for a while as I thought about stripping and rebuilding mine. Gave up and just got another.

Filter is a course plastic sponge thing. Just stops nonsense getting into the motor. You could probably clean and reinstall easy enough. Sometimes they break down and go crumbly.

 

Thanks. Just replaced my cats today. Had this pending 1415 code. Did some online digging, one thing lead to another and suddenly I'm finding this filter that has likely never been changed. Oh well, something new to make better. Gotta love these Discos. :-)
