SAI rubber mounts and filter

SAI rubber mounts and filter
Poking around in the engine bay, I noticed all three of the rubber mounts on the SAI blower were completely broken. The blower was flopping around inside the bracket and was noisier than it should be.
Found three rubber mounts on eBay for a little less than $20 shipped.
Its pretty easy to remove the vacuum canister and other doodad (separator?) with a 10mm deep well socket.
One electrical clip and pull the blower out towards you. There is a plastic tube that comes off easily which frees the blower completely. Three, maybe four minutes! Wish everything were this easy.
17mm open end wrench to pull the remaining 3 mount halves off of the blower. Screw the new ones on and snug them down.
I was curious about the plastic end with three tabs holding it in place. Turns out there’s a filter under there! It looked a little dusty, so I went over to the shop vac. It literally starts disintegrating in my hand. It was like Raiders of the last ark!
Ran up to O’Reilly’s to look for some foam. I figured something meant for an air box would be a little more resistant to any fuel vapors. I was going to buy a cheap air filter, but found a green foam filter that looked like it was for a lawnmower or rototiller. The piece I found even had a hole cut out of the center like the original. A little trimming with scissors and I was ready to put it all back together.
So, minus the trip to the auto parts store, 15 mins and $24.

That’s a great option. Didn’t even think of a crankcase vent filter....
oh, and to Juke, I just found your post from 2011 as I was searching around....the Disco is new to me. It’s a whole new set of problems that fortunately you guys before me have already solved!
