Default SAI - Secdonary Air

Hi, I have a crack in one of my secondary air intake lines....has anyone ever just plugged these up or know if it can be done with out any problems caused to the vehicle? I would rather plug them up than repair it since the part is costly....

Thanks,
Steve

You can try JB Weld or some other such thing.
Let us know how it turns out.
All the SAI does is force fresh air into the exhaust after it comes out of the engine.

Default where

where is the break? on the copper pipes you are looking at another pipe.. And if you happen to get the pipes out of the head adapters you will be superman. Usally you have to take the adapters out to get the pipes out without breaking the pipes. Then they tell you you need new adapters at $50.00 a pop...********.... when i got my truck, my SAI was unhooked as i think the car place thought the SAI turbine noise would scare people away...and i dont blame them... It is about the most lame *** worthless piece of engeneering i have seen. I am thinking of getting rid of mine... Even when it was unplugged it never gave me the check engine light... I suspect if you are getting a exhaust leak noise...It's the pipe...

Let us know.... Chris

It is leaking....on the pipe. It's on the bottom side right on the seam. I cracked it when I pried it back to remove the upper intake when I was doing my coils. It sounds like a freakin go-cart. I have tin foil and hose clamps over it right now, but it is wearing out and getting louder...drives me nuts.

I would love to get some bolts or something and plug them right up!!!

You should be able to find one on ebay or call miamirovers.com and ask for carlos... and see if they have a used one.. Yea, you have to be very carfull with the pipes..they are sh$it.... I had to pull my heads with mine on as they would have broke taking them off. It was a pain in the ***...
