Default Sai tube removal/ head gasket repair!

Started my project tonight. Im going to do head gaskets on my Disco and I have one question so far. I'm having a hard time removing the sai tubes from the head. The large nuts are loose, but the tube is twisting too. I'm afraid i'm going to crack the tube if I keep turning it. I have sprayed it with some stuff to loosen bolts hoping it would help.

What else can I do? A little heat on the nut to try to expand it a bit?

Thanks to anyone with a little tip or trick!

It's getting late now so i'm off to bed. I will check back in the morning.

We have 75k on the disco now.

a little heat and some PB.Blaster, work the nut back and forth in both directions.
Honestly I think you will get more out of the blaster and rocking the nut, in reality tha nut has been heated and cooled a million times by now. Plus most of those SAI tubes that have been removed have a little twist in the tubing. good luck

What he says, some pb blaster and let it soak in. Basically you need some lube between the tubes and the nuts.

Thanks for the reply. I will get some pb blaster today.I ran oua while back. I was using something else.

I also broke a couple hard plastic lines when removing parts. I was also a little disappointed about how the valvetrain was blackish, and burnt oil looking. There was someclean spots on the rocker arms. Would that be from me using the Rotella oil as of late?

Default update on sai tubes

Update: I got one sai tube off without breaking it, but the other one is mangled. It just kept turning the pipe as I turned the nut. Atleast I only have to replace 1.

The heads are almost off. I had to take a break because our house is for sale and we have a showing! Maybe our house will sell!

Thanks for the help so far,

Scott
