Just get the correct length of heater or fuel hose (silicon is nice and pliable). Take the rubber nubs off of the ends of the hard plastic hose (either the radiator or overflow end) to take in for comparison. The factory hose is nice because it is neat and clips into place nicely, you can always order it.

I replaced the hard plastic, did I say plastic, I meant glass. That old hose was so brittle it broke 3 different times while I was removing it. Put the rubber hose on and ot seems to be doing the trick. The coolant is low, will it be ok until I get more in a day or two? And where and what kind do I need to get? Thanks again REALLY new to all this mechanical stuff on cars. Can fix about anything else just kinda new to working on engines so just a WARNING I will be asking a lot of questions and a lot may be stupid or easy fixes, but that is what htis forum is for. Thanks again

You should be OK as long as the ends are clamped good (don't go too crazy and crack that plastic connector on the radiator).

Dexcool does not do well when exposed to air, like in a engine with a coolant leak. When in a sealed system it does work well. If you have dexcool in there you should use dexcool of some brand. You can add prestone universal green coolant to dexcool also. I believe the prestone dexcool that you have requires dilution, 50:50 with distilled water is fine. There are many dexcool horror stories and it can make a real mess so many of us have flushed it out and use other coolants.

UHHHHHHH what to do. I called the Land Rover dealer and they told me to use it. I just don't want to mess it up. If it were my Jeep I would know what to do but this thing is scaring me.

That is what they have to say. This is what I would do...

You have the dexcool so just use it, it is effin' cold out anyhow. Hang out here read up. In the spring we will help you through flushing out your coolant and maybe changing over to something like G05 (yellow) long life coolant.

refill your system with dexcool. you have no choice unless you are ready to do a coolant flush.
