My fan is temp sensitive. Never comes on with the a/c (I have no idea why, other owners experience this on the P38 rover. The disco is probably different) Mine always comes on at 210F and then lowers the temp to 195 and then shuts off, and will repeat if in i'm in heavy traffic. 215F isn't horrible, but it is pushing the limit.

Fan came on at 211 this morning in the driveway and heard it come on at a light at the same temp.

This happened after coming out of some really muddy roads down there. Drove home fine, but got to 215 again today. Everytime it hits 215 I turn the heater on so I don't know if it will go above that or not.

Washed the entire truck off today at a self spray wash, got the radiator good and the engine bay. Truck got to 215 after the wash as well.

It recently hit 121,000 miles or so. I'm doing the 120 service with new plugs (not wires yet), seafoam, oil etc. this weekend. Hopefully that helps.

Next steps from there would be take it in.

Have you saved any gas with the scangauge by adjusting driving style? I am kind of interested in buying one.

Yes actually it can help you modify your driving habits by displaying your estimated miles per gallon and cost per mile. SCARY!

Found the problem, the thermostat housing was starting to come apart. Order a new one and put it in yesterday. Those Rover hose clamps are little bastards.

Unfortunately I over torqued the bleed screw and broke it, so I've got to find a replacement T before I can run it to verify the temperature decrease.

Thanks for all the help.
