I do need another Disco but right now I need money. I'm about to resort to selling body parts just to pay bills. I look at the ads for Rovers all the time and dream about the good ol' days when I had one. It's kind of a sad existence really.

That's why I bought one...if you're handy and don't mind tinkering, these are a tremendous value! If you don't, I can see where they might be a nightmare!

Unfortunately in Alaska Rovers are rare and expensive. Plus I live near the ocean where people feel it necessary to submerge the tow vehicle with the trailer while launching their boat so rust is an issue also.

I have no problem working on my own vehicle. Only reason I had a mechanic do the head gaskets on my last Rover was because I didn't have the ambition to spend my week off from working covered in grease and I could afford at the time to pay a professional to do the work.

A friend of mine has an old Series truck that he says is currently a basketcase but since he wants to give me it for free I may grab it for something to tinker on in my rare free time during the summer. Fishing, work and occasionally golf pretty much takes up my whole summer.

There are running/driving Disco's by the dozen out here (PA and north). Buy one and have it shipped for $1500 (?). option?

I have been using craiglook.com lately. It searches craigslist ads but in a 250 mile radius or more, rather then just by small areas.
