my seat beltwas locked tight and I couldn't get any slack in it. Since I need to pass inspection soon I thought I would need to get a new one.The new one cameand is doing the same thing. usually you can let a little back on the spool and pull again and it will release....not this time. Is theresoe kind ofrelease or do I need to send it back?

 

Send it back and try again. If it happens again then it is something else.

 

is it doing this with it installed... when its not installed its tricky to make it unwind, has to be sitting at the right angle and pulled on in the right way, install it, and see what happens
