Question Seat height

Who designed the seats in this thing? They are outrageously tall. Even getting in and out is a chore and when I sit down my eyes parallel with the headliner.

Is there some adjustment that can be made to the seat rails to lower the seat about and inch or inch and a half?

I hear you. They also forgot tilt steering wheels! I have to wedge my legs under the wheel to get in/out and when the wheels in a comfortable position, it blocks out many of the gauges & switches.

Good luck!

Umm... I'm pretty sure they have height adjustable seats AND tilt wheels... I'm not sure what you guys are complaining about

Good luck!

That's my problem, legs are too long to wedge between the steering wheel and the floor with the wheel in a good tilt position. That design makes about as much sense as the "have to grab the key twice to turn it on" ignition switch. Oh well, it's part of the charm I tell myself...but I'm guessing that's why BMW dropped it so fast. Probably blew their minds some of the engineering choices LR made.

you can move the driver seat tracks back on the floor to the rear to give you more leg room, but it takes away from the rear obviously

electric seats are adjustable up and down but not the manual seats. Planning on some shadetree modifications next summer to lower the seat a bit.

reclining the backrest helps a bit but it is still tough to get in and out through the narrow door. My thinking is I need a longer wheelbase model.

You're right! I forgot it HAS tilt but no IN-OUT to the wheel.
Even in the lowest seat position and the steering wheel in its comfortable driving position I still have to perform small gymnastic feats to get my legs under the wheel.

That being said, the driving position once obtained, is great.

Question

I have already adjusted the seat all the way down and I still feel like I am driving a school bus. The seat height is just ridiculous. I see no alternative other than to pull the seat and cutting and welding the seat frame to lower it.

I have to lower my head at a 45 degree angle just to get inside this thing.
I wanted to know if someone sells a lowered seat frame.
