Well, I must say that while I am honored by your kind thoughts, IMHO I'm not qualified to carry Mike or Spike's lug wrench, let alone their tool box. The forum is a cooperative effort, everyone has something to add, even if it is a question. In the future, people will be searching for and reading these posts, because no dealer will touch one of these fragile dinosaurs. And they'll need every idea that has been on this forum. And if we only had one person's ideas, it would be boring pretty quick. There are not many groups on the web that follow each report of a project, will go out and inspect something on their truck, even photograph it, and post back to someone on the other side of the country, or a remote garden spot, to help another owner. As a group, we are pretty impressive, the size of a major university or large town. And on this board at all hours. Keep up the good work, everybody!

youd be surprised, there are a few shady dealers that chuck these from auction right back out on the streets to the unknowing. there should be a federal mandate that land rover post a "research internet forums before purchasing any of our products". think ive put a few type phrases in wikipedia discovery page here and there hahaha

I do appreciate all the help and advice that has been given to me but at times regret asking the question due to how the answer is given. To all you senior members please don't offer help and ask for follow up on issues when you make the one asking the questions feel like a fool for asking. I have read the RAVE and I am not a mechanic or pardon me a Land Rover Tech... but the RAVE like anything else is written to be understood by someone in the field. Its like a farmer trying to read and understand how to do open heart surgery. If you offer help don't assume the person asking for help understands the RAVE, if the RAVE was always right or made complete sense I for one would not ask for help.

I don't mind taking the punches so long as I get what I need haha but everyone here makes a valid point. I'd like to say thanks to the people here who have helped regardless of whether or not it came with a little sourness. Even those kind of answers have helped out. I appreciate the effort either way.

A little thought from a newbie, Sometimes the sarcasm that you read from these old timers brings a bit of spice to the same question being answered. I post on here for my husband, now nicknamed Prince Charming, thanks buzz. I have absolutely no clue what the hell I am usually asking in my post, but have done the search and can understand what a P.I.T.A it must be to repeat the same thing time and again. I am extremely grateful that they do it. Now if I could only teach my Prince Charming to type, so he can ask his own questions.

We could solve most issues by writing something like the VW guys have had for years. Anyone ever read "how to keep your VW alive"? Probably the best written how to book on the planet.

IMHO any handsome husband who was smart enough to marry you, plus brainy and brave enough to take on head gasket repair on SWMBO daily driver, in the garage, which he has seldom had to do in the past, well.. maybe typing is just not first on his list. But with you as the research leader of the team it got done! You obviously make a terrific team, and always will. He will swell with pride as you praise the revived Disco.

Hahahaha, yea keyword being "were". Now, I mostly lurk. And throw in my two cents every now and then. If I remember correctly, I did throw in three cents on one of the OP threads. Last time I do that!
