Default Self-Leveling Suspension (SLS) Remote?!

I've just got a base model Discovery II (I think), but the owner's manual says that there is a remote handset available that will allow me(?) to control the height of my Disco manually?

Is this only the STC50075 remote control?

#1: Why does no one sell that part used?
#2: Does *every* 2003 Disco have SLS?
#3: Would having this remote handset allow me to change height while the car is parked, say, for working underneath?

#4: How does this handset "know" how to operate the SLS on my Disco, or does the same handset allow me to prank other Disco2 owners by changing their ride height while parked?!

#5: is there any other non-STC50075 way to manually adjust height while parked??

The SLS plip is programmed to the truck so most get sold with the truck.

It is mega dangerous to work underneath on the truck with air suspension even if it's in good condition.

The SLS plip is programmed to only one truck so no you cannot raise others trucks.

The intent of the plip is to lower the SLS to hook up a trailer but if offroading use the lower and raise capability inside the truck.

Might I politely suggest you read the owners manual carefully which explains everything.

I've got the downhill assist button on the center fascia, but not the Off-road icon, so I'm thinking that I do not have SLS, correct?

If no SLS then no ACE, either?

Downhill assist does not bother your ride height. it just helps you go down a hill in a controlled and slow way. also keeps you from sliding sideways down a hill. ace you can tell right away if you lift your hood and see two caps on your power steering reservoir.

I thought you just used the regular remote fob and pushed buttons a certain way to raise/lower it on a D2. That's how it works on an LR3.

Most "S" models came with rear coils, not airbags. Thus they would not have SLS or be adjustable in any manual way.

Do any Disco2s come from the factory with ACE but not SLS?

I don't know about the US NAS spec but in europe ACE and aircon is optional whereas SLS is only on ES spec models as standard unless you pay for it as a special order as an optional extra as far as I know.
