Default Series II TD5 will not start

Hello all.

Stuck in Far North Queensland, Australia, with an internet connection and a 2001 TD5 that will not start. Everything appears (dash lights),(and sounds) Ok while key is moved to position two on the ignition, then on trying to start the engine there is nothing. Engine does not turn over, total silence.

I am not the most mechanically minded but I would appreciate any input before I get towed to a Toyota lovin' mechanic. Only thing I have been able to do is visually inspect all the fuses, and they were all good. Car has gone from running fine to dead.

Any ideas?

Just so you don't get left hanging, most of the people on here are North American and we don't get the diesels...[&o]. Thought I would bump you up to see if anyone from afar might be of help.

Just my opinon, but I would check your battery and all of your connections

You may wish to try a UK based forum at difflock.com. Notso good as this one as all Land Rover topics are lumped together. However almost all UK Disco II's are TD5's so you may get some help.

Good luck
