I always buy my belts locally, Goodyear, Gates or Dayco.

If you have ACE, the belt will be longer to to turn the ACE pump. ACE is Active Corner Enhancement. Easiest way to tell if you have it is to look at your power steering fluid reservoir and if it has 2 caps, you have ACE.

Is it in park? Any click when you turn the key on? Red LED "on" or "flashing" on the cluster? Power to the starter when you try to crank?

Disco is in park. No unusual lights or anything. i get a clicking noise like i've heard when my alternator or starter has gone bad on other cars.

You have a dead battery, take it out, go get it charged and tested. If it is bad buy a replacement with at least 800 CCA rating.
