Yesterday my service engine soon light came on so I went and got the codes read like you guys suggested on my 01 Disco.
P1172 and P1175
Can you guys shed some light on what they mean? I am not a wrench but hopefully i can answer any other basic questions you may have concerning my vehicle.
Basics--- I run premium grade. I add a fuel injection additive every 3k. Oil was just changed. Head gaskets have been replaced. Spark plugs replaced.

I also had those exact same errors. Has your gas mileage been worse than usual lately? I replaced my MAF sensor but I have only put on 200 miles since with no SES light. There have also been a few others that have fixed this problem with a MAF sensor. Just remember to buy a factory one or the codes will return. Good luck

I had those codes and I replaced my MAF and 1000 miles later the ses is still off. You have to replace it, then have an obd scanner reset your light. Here is the one that bought.

I had the same codes come and go for months. If I had the money I would have replaced the part right away. In my case the gas mileage was horrible. Now I have a quarter tank of gas left where it used to be empty. So for every four tanks of gas I get one free. If you think of it that way the part will pay for itself in a few months.

What does an MFA do? Does my car already have one? and if so am I to assume that it just is no longer working properly? how does it affect gas mileage so drastically? and is the gas mileage only being affected when the service light is on? what are the chances that I buy the part and the light still stays on? i just want a little more info before i make the next step...thanks
