SERVICE QUESTION?
I did a serch but I couldnt find any thing on a 100.000 mile service! I am thinking of getting another disco I have been looking at 1995-2002 with miles on them in the 80,000- 136,000 range!
Any one know what the next big service is after the 60,000 monster?
Heck while your at it what year would you guys buy? I am thinking 1999 O wait 99 dont have CDL or do they, but they have ACE and down hill so 99 and up Im thinking!!

The 99 to mid -01's have the CDL, you just need the linkage, check the nipple under the truck. Not all of them have ACE.
If you are getting a Disco and you don't get meticulous service records with it, do the 60K service. It is the biggie.

Just make sure to pay attention when looking at a 99 as both D1s and D2s were made that year. A 99 D1 will have CDL with the linkage while a D2 will need the linkage installed to operate the CDL. D2s up to early 01 have the CDL nipple and just need the linkage. Late 01 - 03 don't even have the nipple but it can be added. Only D2s will have goodies such as ACE and hill decent control but they also suffer from the 3 amigos.

You can add a CDL to any LT230.

Actually, like Jupiter Rover said, CDL can be added to any LT230 transfer case. From mid-2001 to 2003 is involves a lot more work as the transfer case has to be disassembled and reassembled with the CDL parts. I believe someone on this forum has done it to their 2003.
JYCSALAS has ordered the parts to do it to his, not sure if he's actually done it yet though. I remember cuz we both have '03's and I was under the same impression that it just couldn't be done. I'm sure doing that, while harder physically, is a lot easier fiscally.
Yes, you can tear down the X-fer case and add the mechanism, but that is what I meant. You can just add the linkage for $100 and 1 hour of labor on the 99 the 01.
You can put a 4.6 block on any Disco for that matter.
