I just ordered a new MAF from Atlantic British, I hope this is the problem. I'm about to get rid of the truck.

Call Tony at the LRRF, 650-365-4145, he has a pretty good price on a factory MAF.
Where did you buy the one you have now?

Is Lucas or Bosch the genuine sensor? I found this at rovahfarm and it is for the sensor only. Would this work or does anyone know where you can buy the sensor only instead of the whole piece?

Mass Air Flow Sensor - 'LUCAS OE'
Ref: ERR7171SENSOR / Price $109.95
Application: Disco II 1999 - 2002 4.0L

You will do fine with the part from AB as they have a year warranty and top notch CS. Though I find it strange they list 2 different MAFs at 2 different prices and say both are original equipment.

I am getting the new MAF tomorrow, do I have to have the ses turned off at autozone, or will it go off after driving awhile??

I believe it should turn of after a while. Autozone is not supposed to erase codes, there was a lawsuit or something. I guess if you know the person they will do it. Investing is a cheap ODBII reader is a smart thing with a Disco though.

Lipadj46, I hear you. They have done it for me in the past, but the last time they said it was illegal.
