  • Any thoughts on the terrafirma shocks?

I replaced the existing shocks and put on a 2" lift using this Terrafirma kit from Atlantic British - I put on a new OME steering damper and it rides (and looks) so much better; however, it's a chunk of change to replace as well as put on new tires.

@kmrgtr I prefer OME (Old Man Emu) they tend to last. Terrafirma I find go soft after a couple of years.

I can’t speak to Terra Firma shocks, but I like my Old Man Emu shocks and springs.

Old Man Emu! Had them work for years, both standard and 2" lift. I've had pretty bad luck with Terrafirma. I've busted 2 of their front diff guards, and most people have replaced their Terrafirma with OME after a few months/years.

Are you looking for a lift kit or just stock height? Not sure if you're going to be abusing these shocks off-road or just on road. Although I don't remember OME kit from AB being $484.95... It also depends on how much you're willing to spend on it.

I'm in the "buy once, cry once" camp and running OME.

Thank you for all the advice

I'm looking to keep the stock height as this is a around town car - maybe we take off-road once/twice a year, and the Terrafirma shocks on eBay seemed attractively priced - but if I have to replace them in a few years, I'd rather spend a few more $$$.

Is there any chance you have the links handy for the Old Man Emu and Bilstien stock height shocks?

Has anyone tried KYB shocks? I had them on a previous suv years ago and they were pretty good.

Thoughts on this set and has anyone had a good or bad experience with Lucky8?

There are the Terrafirma shocks I found on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/29116793911...E#gad_source_1

Don't get terrafirma if you can afford it. I've had a 2'' TF lift for ~ 6 years or so and maybe 40k miles, and my second set of shocks have gone bad. First set went bad 4 years ago or so, and now even though I've stopped dailying it and only put 12k miles or so on it, the second set is failing. I have not had OME, but that seems to be the better of the budget friendly options.

I bought my OME 2” lift kit from Lucky 8 last year. No complaints from me. I was happy with their service.
