Default Shock travel question

I have removed my front and rear sway bars (i never get above 40 mph on my commute to and from work and rarely drive on the freeway) with an OME 2.5" lift, OME shocks all the way around. If i went to a longer travel shock like a bilstein or fox am i going to run into any other problems? I have concluded that i get around 10" of travel from the OME's and can get up to 14 (although i don't think i am set up to use it all) from other set ups. Also, can i justify the additional cost vs reward....Thoughts and suggestions appreciated.

You will need longer brake lines and maybe spring cones.
They are the things that keep the springs from falling out of place when you over extend things.
