Default Should I be concerned about this?

I was waxing the roof on the newish-to-me 2004 D2 and noticed the sealant used inside the gutter has lifted in a couple spots. Mostly in the back passenger corner. Should I be concerned about rust developing here? Is this fix to remove what's lifting, then caulk and paint? I'll admit, I'm a bit in the dark about how the roof structure attaches to the rest of the body.

The roof bolts on.
Clean it and put in some black or clear rtv silicone.

RRC roofs bolt on, but I'm 99% sure the D1/D2 is welded on. I'd slap some black silicone in there as a CYA and call it a day.

I saw a D2 in a junkyard a couple years ago with the roof sitting beside it.
The A, B pillars, nothing looked cut.
I *assumed* they bolted on too.

D2 roof and D1 are both definitely welded on. RRC and Defenders bolt on
