should i lift it or leave it?
Alright, I've got an 04 discoII S model. Its stock all around. New engine. I used to have an old CJ-7 lifted with 33's and loved being high up and able to go anywhere with it. But I was also still able to get into parking decks and places like that.
#1. How big of tires can I go without a lift?
#2. How much lift needed for 31's A/TS
#3. Would I need to regear or mess with gears or drive shafts for 2" lift and 31's
#4. Does this mess the driving and the lower center of gravity much?
#5. What's the best option for lifts? I have whosale account to get them really cheap
Thanks and any other ideas would be awesome, and maybe some pics of other lifted rigs

#1 if you have saggy stock suspension not much bigger
#2 you can fit 31's with no lift
#3 no lift is needed no regearing, but you do need to swap that drive shaft out for one with greasable u joints.
#4 not unless you plan on getting near that 45 degree mark
#5 I like the terrafirma +2" HD but i have armor and HD bumpers bolted to my truck without that I would suggest +2" Medium. Some people will say OME.
before you start dumping all this money into it, I would take it off road stock. First get that drive shaft replaced before it explodes. If you get the TF kit you can fit 265/75/16's with no problem, might be best if you ditched the sway's though cuz it restricts the travel and makes for a bumpy on-road ride.

^ agreed. I went offroading with ed earlier this year in a stock height suspension (probably sagging a lil). And my stock height baby was quite capable. She went through some moderately deep stuff and she was wearing crappy street tires. take your truck offroad first. then look into a lift. personally, im going to replaced my struts and shocks with nothing that exceeds stock height..
of course, this is just my .02

the pass side cat dries out the sealed u joint on the front shaft. it will bake it dry and eventually it will fail, swinging the shaft wildly and most likely damaging the tranny or transfer case or something else. you can either rebuild it with greasable u joints, or replace the whole shaft with something like a tom woods or GBR. do a search you can find out horror stories and write ups on how to fix it.
