Default Sinking Rear Suspension

I have a 2000 Discovery II that in the last twoweeks has had a sinking rear suspension. In the past it has corrected itself, but now will not raise the rear. It seems to be the passinger side that fails initially and then the driver side follows suite. I've tried to raise the suspension using the interior button, but now it does not correct itself and I can hear air escaping from the rear of the vehicle (both sides). Temps have been averaging below 0 and I'm wondering if that may be a partial cause. Any suggestions?

One of your air suspension bags has a leak in it and that is causing it to deflate when the truck is turned off. Once you turn the truck on it will fix itself but go back to that way it was once you turn it off. This is a common problem disco's deal with. If you rub soapy water on the bag that is leaking you can find the hole.

As for the interior button, that has nothing to do with it. That just raises the truck a bit for off roading. It wont help the suspension at all. And i'm pretty sure it goes off after you hit 30+ MPH. Mike or someone will have more advice on how to fit your problem. I justed wanted to tell you thats what it was.

Thanks for the quick response. One thing I forgot to mention is that for days the rear suspension will be fine, then it will sink. for instance this morning passinger rear was compressed, I started the vehicle and after a few minutes it raides. It sat all day and was fine. Drove home from work, no problems, then ran the store, came out and it was compressed. Seems to be sporatic.

You need to replace your air bags. You can get them pretty cheap at Arnottindustries.com
They also have a lifetime warranty.

Don't jump into parts yet. How many miles on your truck, have the bags ever been replaced yet?
You might want to give me a call so I can walk you thru a few things to check. By the way, don't drive it while it is down or you will cause additional damage.
